This is the next generation of DeWalt’s flagship DCG414 angle grinder, and boasts an incredible maximum power output of 2300 Watts when paired with a 9.0 Amp-hour FlexVolt battery, putting it on par with many corded machines. That means it can offer up to 30 percent greater power than the DCG414, a certainly noticeable difference. It takes 125mm wheels, and thanks to the high power, it is suitable for use with heavy duty applications such as diamond cups, 2.8mm & diamond cutting discs, ceramic bonded and more, as well as being suitable for use with your standard AL oxide, zirconia, and 1mm cutting discs. Other upgrades over the 414 that the DCG418 have are an upgraded electronic module components and updated program, using the feedback gained over the past few years. Brushless motors are no longer new technology, but DeWalt are continually improving the design and engineering behind them, with more accurate machining allowing more magnets as well as more winding area.
